A Operational Art of War (TOAW) occurs as series of computer wargames noted for their scope, detail, and flexibility within recreating, at an operational level, a major land battles of the 20th century. The Norm Koger design, Talonsoft published the number one of the series within 1998.

the basic appearance of the game is the traditional review onto a hexagonal grid, although the streaming video player will select the map-prefer overhead review by having military symbols for the units, or an isometric view that depicts the units by having little pictures of soldiers, tanks, etc. Gameplay is turn-based.

A shell of the game is variable, sustaining distances ranging from either Deuce.5km by the whammy to 50km by the curse, & every turn simulating from either One/2 day to 1 week of instance, however is essentially "operational", focusing in battalion, division, and corps combat.

the games include a scenario editor, & lot of the content in the followon games come designs developed per community of avid players.
